Grand Traverse County EMA w/ Wall-Mounted RATT on Mobile Command Trailer

Grand Traverse County Emergency Management purchased the wall-mounted RATT with a 30’ silver telescoping mast and RMHP1 PTZ camera. According to Emergency Management Coordinator Gregg Bird, it “assists us in preventing terrorism and violent incidents by being able to conduct elevated, mobile surveillance during large attended events. Additionally, this enables local law enforcement to conduct elevated mobile surveillance during any active investigation needing surveillance from a mobile and/or remote location. This brings a capability to the county that hasn’t existed. It will also assist and strengthen our goal of preventing, responding to, and investigating acts of terrorism, violent acts, and other significant incidents/events.” Most recently, The RATT was deployed for a presidential campaign event and an eight-hour standoff with a barricaded suspect at a hotel.
