Jonesboro PD Deploys Eye-In-The-Sky Fast @ State Fair

The Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) purchased a Hitch-Mounted RATT tower with a cloud-connected RQ621 portable camera kit in order to quickly deploy an eye-in-the-sky at public events and critical incidents day or night.

Instead of a two-person 20-25 minute camera trailer deployment, JPD can now have eyes up on The RATT in under 10 minutes with a single person thereby saving time & resources.

According to JPD’s Wade Shapp, “The RATT allows us to quickly get an eye in the sky over a scene or public event! It’s simple to deploy and transport to events. Once up it’s easy to monitor from anywhere and you don’t have to worry about generators or keeping spare batteries charged! The RATT is everything you want in a rapid-deploy camera!”

Arkansas State Fair

The RATT was connected in minutes via the 2x2” hitch receiver of a JPD SUV and deployed as an eye-in-the-sky for coverage of the Arkansas State Fair locally & remotely back to the (Real-Time Crime Center) RTCC. JPD had an overview of the fairgrounds with a quick, easy, one-person deployment for the 10-day event.
